Where I’ve Been

February 5th, 2009

I’ve been fortunate enough to do a fair amount of travel over the past few years. I’ve been reflecting on it this morning, to remind myself how lucky I am. I decided I wanted to make a list:

  • 2008
  • Burning Man: 2.5 Weeks, Summer
  • Alaska: 2 Weeks, Summer: I flew a piper cub over a glacier.
  • Backpacking Lost Creek Wilderness, CO: 4 Day, Summer: My first (and only) backpacking trip.
  • Sayulita, MX: A few days, Spring
  • Misc trips all around CO for snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and camping. Family trips around Texas
  • 2007
  • Santa Fe, NM: 1 Week, Winter: I learned to ride moguls and had a wonderful Xmas.
  • Yucatan, MX: 1 Week, Fall: I swam in cenotes.
  • Pucon, Chile: 1 Week, Summer: I snowboarded down an active volcano.
  • Sayulita, MX: A few days, Spring
  • Santa Cruz, CA: A few days, Spring: I surfed Pleasure Point
  • Yucatan, MX: A few days, Spring: I saw Merida for the first time.
  • Wolf Creek, CO: A few days, Spring: My first deep pow pow.
  • More misc trips all around CO and family trips around Texas
  • 2006
  • Steamboat, CO: 1 Week, Winter: Spent Xmas & NY boarding in epic conditions.
  • Sayulita, MX: A few days, Summer: My first time to Sayulita, my first “real” surf trip.
  • Jamacia: A few days, Summer: Spent my birthday drinking dirty bananas, scuba diving, climbing a giant waterfall, and eating jerked chicken.
  • Misc snowboarding trips to Colorado
  • 2005 And Back
  • Padre Island: A few days, Fall: I surfed waves from Katrina, if you can call it surfing.
  • Some weird camp in TX: I drove a tank and played in a paint ball war.
  • Lots of snowboarding trips…
  • …this is getting so far back I can’t remember very well anymore…

Ok, I’ve spent enough time thinking back. Maybe I’ll remember more things to update this list with… Oh, and in a few weeks, I can add Dundee, Scotland to this list. It will be my first trip over the pond. Time to get busy. :)
